This Christmas, Thoresby Park are supporting When You Wish Upon A Star , a charity who help grant wishes for children with a life-threatening illness.

When You Wish Upon A Star, founded in Nottingham in 1990 by Barbara White, transform the lives of the children and families and have granted over 17,500 wishes across the UK. Wishes include taking families and their children over to Florida to meet Minnie Mouse, a trip to Lapland to meet Santa at Christmas time, a computer and meeting Taylor Swift at a concert.

Inside Thoresby Gallery, we have a beautiful 7ft tree decorated with twinkly lights and ‘Stars for Wishes’, by visiting us in the Visitor Centre and donating £1, we’ll provide you with a star decoration which you can write down your Christmas Wish on and then hang on our very special wish tree- All donations go straight to When You Wish.

As well as wish stars, David Supper, a local artist from West Bridgford, has kindly donated a piece of his artwork to When You Wish Upon A Star, which is hanging in Thoresby Gallery.

The artwork has a reserve price of £500 with all the money from the sale of the artwork going straight to When You Wish. The piece will stay in the gallery until the new year so please stop by to not only view the fabulous Portraits Collection which is exhibiting in the gallery, but to see David’s work for yourself.

A big thank you David for your kind donation, let’s find this beautiful piece of art a new home! More information on David Supper can be found on his website:
