The whole of Stage Four of the 2017 Tour of Britain took place within the Nottinghamshire boundaries, and Thoresby were proud to welcome them through the historic village of Budby. Tenants and visitors alike lined the Green in the centre of the village to welcome the riders to the village. The initial riders (a breakaway of five riders) passed through at five past one with the main Peleton of riders at 10 minutes later. The whole area around Sherwood Forest had been buzzing all day and a cavalcade of Police motorcycle riders, numbering around forty units was spotted travelling south on the A614 past Perlethorpe in pairs at around 9am. Quite impressive.

One special little boy, managed to bag himself one of the discarded water bottles – we are told he will be using it on his bike ride this weekend!

It was incredible watching the whole cavalcade passing by and there were clearly some cyclists lagging behind a bit.

Let’s hope we can expect a longer sequence next time.
