When we received the phone call from The Sun newspaper to ask if we could help make a dream come true, we, of course, said yes, how can we help?!

Shelley Sheppard was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease around six months ago, devastating news which she and her family are still trying to accept and the uncertainty of Shelley’s future is exactly why she and husband Paul, 49, wanted to renew their wedding vows. Shelley and Paul never had any photos taken when they got married and so we helped them renew their vows and take photos of their day at Thoresby so that Shelley could remember forever.

The day couldn’t have been any more perfect as the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day, the renewal of vows were performed in Thoresby’s Walled Garden with the help of celebrant Annette Terry. Paul and Shelley were joined by their 5 daughters as bridesmaids along with a close selection of friends and family.

After the ceremony, the wedding party headed over to Thoresby’s Pierrepont Gallery which had been transformed into a wedding reception of dreams with cream drapes, fairy lights, beautiful wildflowers and candles galore.

The party enjoyed some food and fizz, continuing the evening at Shelley and Paul’s home in the garden with more of their family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who helped Thoresby Weddings make Shelley’s day perfect, from making the cake, providing the buffet, the decor, the makeup artists and everyone from The Sun newspaper.

We felt extremely lucky and honoured to be involved and we wish the Sheppard family the best of luck with everything.

You can view Shelley and Paul’s day on The Sun’s website where they shared a very emotional and special video.
